Video Games

A Playful & Fun First Date

Video games on a date night can be fun, exciting, or both. Here is how you can turn this date idea into to a date night to remember.

You have at least a couple choices when you decide to play video games on a date night. You can make it fun and not a competition. If you have or can rent games that can involve both players interacting or better, working together toward a common goal you will make it a fun date night. Having fun means it doesn't matter who wins or who loses, but how many smiles and laughs you share.

Romantic Date IdeaOptionally, you just might have yourself an ultra competitive date on your hands. If you're prepared to go all out like that, and if that's what you enjoy, why not go for it?! Relationship experts say the adrenalin rush you get from doing exciting things together can work to bring you closer to your date. It has to do with chemicals in the brain and... I honestly don't know the rest. I do know sharing exciting times with a friend can work to bring you closer together. That's enough for me.

Fun, Exciting, or Both!

Sometimes I'm all about fun and I think it would be fun on a date night (say, some rainy night when you want to stay in) if you make it about playing games that aren't terribly challenging so everyone can excel and enjoy themselves. There are plenty of video games you can get for the night (rent or borrow) that will make playing together a fun night.

Sometimes I'm all about the rush, getting the blood pumping and all my senses into the game. I might not win, but "wow" may be just what I need to make this date night something special. On those nights I want to play something dangerous that might make me shiver if it were a real life situation. It may be easier to find this type of game because there are so many of them.

Whatever you do, don't get obsessed like I have once or twice in the past, playing games until 5am when you have to get up and go to work the next day. Work doesn't go so well after an all-nighter of Donkey Kong!
