Sand Castle
Building Fun in the Sun & Sand Sand castle building at the beach brings out the creative, cooperative, child-like side of you when you share it with someone special. If you're looking for a fun date, a creative date, or an inexpensive date idea to share with an outdoor lover, this is it. It doesn't even have to be a castle either, but instead can involve just about any form you want to give it. Check out the pictures below for ideas.
Most kids are experts at building castles so you may have to think back to when you were a kid to make it stand and stay. You'll need a bucket or two, some shovels, perhaps some forms for making shaped "bricks", all found at the dollar store for cheap. Beyond that all you need is sand, water, and your imagination. Sun screen, water (to drink), maybe a hat, and how about a blanket and picnic lunch so you can sit back and admire your creation together.
Great Memories... I have many great memories of days at the beach when I was little. My expertise was probably in digging a hole to be buried in, and as long as I was in the sun and feeling the sand under my feet I didn't care. If you haven't been out to the beach lately just to play you're missing out on a great afternoon of fun. Besides that, its a good chance to rub some sun screen on each others back. Reapply as needed.
There is a song lyric by one of my favorites, Jimi Hendrix, that goes, "Castles made of sand fall in the sea, eventually." You know this is true, so don't forget to bring your camera and capture some memories. Check out these sand castle pictures to get some ideas on what you can create while you're out there having fun.
