When To Give Roses
You don't need a reason to give flowers. With very few exceptions the flowers that you give "just because" will probably mean more than the flowers you give when it's expected that you'll give them.
Do not ever give flowers to make up for something you did wrong. Never ever. You see this all the time on television but television is not reality. If you give flowers to make up for something you did wrong you attach the wrong meaning to giving flowers. Not a good idea.
If you give flowers because you screwed up, the next time you give her flowers she wonders what you did wrong. You don't want them to carry that meaning. Receiving flowers should make her happy.
The only times you should give flowers...To express your loveTo celebrate something good happeningHer birthdayYour anniversaryValentines dayJust becasue you know she likes them There are many websites out there with a lot more good information about roses and flowers but you shouldn't really need much more than this. Once you find a good florist you like they will be the best resource you'll ever need for information about giving flowers. If they know their business they will be happy to (and want to) educate you about giving flowers. Often.
