A romantic getaway is a great idea when you need a quick escape and you don't want to travel far from home. I've been on getaways locally with packages that included in-room fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs, and a great price for the getaway.One Valentines day getaway I went on included rose petals (silk) on the bed and a bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge. They also included scented oil for the jacuzzi (I think we still have some) and breakfast in the morning. I'd go there again. Getaway packages have many ways for you to immerse yourself in romance, so hide the TV remote and focus on each other: Restaurants - in house or off site, often with discounts for guests, perfect for a quiet dinner Room service - if you must, if you just can't find a way to leave the room Lounges and bars - maybe a cocktail in a quiet corner Spas Treatments & Massages - a pampered partner is a happy partner Pools - whatever floats your boat In-room jacuzzi and/or fireplace - set the mood and let romance happen. Don't forget scented candles. Rooms with a view - sunset, sunrise, wildlife, mountains, water front, or leave the shades down and look into each others eyes. Locations that inspire romance - twinkling city lights, twinkling stars, or twinkling eyes filled with love and desire A quick getaway may be just what you need to romance away the day to day joys of work, bills, traffic, children, not enough time, and every other distraction keeping you from each other. If there is a concierge available they will be an invaluable resource of information and assistance to make your stay memorable. Just tell that what you are looking for and they will recommend or research possibilities for you.
