Pick Your Own
Fruits & Vegetables Pick your own fruits and vegetables is another fun and creative date idea that combines nicely with some of the other outdoor date ideas you'll find here. Harvest time is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the last of the season.
Many "you pick" farms also have other on-site family friendly activities you can enjoy with your date. Here are some of the activities featured...
• Hay rides • Corn mazes • Farm tours • Hiking trails • Playgrounds • Petting zoo • Picnic areas • Gift shop • Bakery • Camping
You might be tempted to think that Iowa has nothing but corn, and Idaho has nothing but potatoes.
In both places I found a wide variety of fruits and vegetables that are fun to pick and delicious to eat! Very often the price you'll pay is less than store bought, and it's fresher too!
As a date idea what you'll want to do is have fun and enjoy each other's company. Perhaps this is the perfect time to ask some of the date questions designed to share positive and fun things about each other.
This works perfectly for the outdoors types. How much fun can you have finding just the right fruits to bring home and feed to each other? That is, if any of them actually make it home.
To some people this is a little too much like work. After all, you get out there during the harvest season and you do a lot of reaching or bending and pick, pick, pick. I grow my own garden almost every year so this is a daily thing to me once the beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers start coming in.
If you like fruits and vegetables, and if you like being outside, you can have a lot of fun with this. If you are a fun date - you'll have a fun date!
