Not many, but some. You don't have to be scared or abandon the internet. If you follow online safety advice you minimize your chances of meeting those people you don't want to meet and you'll have a good online experience. No matter how many bad news stories you've seen or heard about the internet, you have to realize that those stories are the exception, not the rule. For every bad news story out there, there are many more stories about people who are happily online and don't have any problems. More Good Than Bad  I've been online with pictures and profiles for over 20 years and have never had a problem. That doesn't mean I won't ever have a problem, and it doesn't mean I will. It just means that I am one of the many who take internet safety seriously enough to do what I can do to make my online experience the best it can be. I love being online!There are many different kind of threats online and offline. You don't walk down dark alleys at night because it isn't safe to do so. Just the same, you shouldn't blindly go anyplace online because you just don't know what will be there once you arrive. Viruses can ruin a computer. Careless online practices can ruin a reputation or worse. Don't become a statistic. No matter how long you've been online it can't hurt to take some time to review online safety advice and make sure you are following the stay safe rules.
