Offline DatingThe New Old Way To MeetOffline dating is still the preferred way for a lot of people to find a date. For the older generation (like me) we learned how to meet people the old fashioned way, up close and face to face. Making eye contact, seeing a smile, and hearing someone's voice can be duplicated digitally via web camera, but it's not the same as up close and in person. Younger people have grown up with computers and internet, and while online dating is very popular with people of all ages, traditional dating has not lost its luster.  Some of the more conventional offline dating places for finding a date still include school, church, bars (ugh), extra curricular activities, setups by friends, and work or coworkers. No matter what people say about finding love at work, lots of people do it. I did it. I met my wife (before she was my wife) at work and I know lots of people who socialize with and date coworkers outside of work.Beyond the conventional places for offline dating there are some old new ways to meet offline. I call them "old new" ways to meet because some of them have been around for years, if not forever. These include the fast, fun, and furious speed dating which got its start around 1998, the very old fashioned with a new world twist matchmakers, dating services of all shapes and sizes, telephone voice dating, and of course, the old fashioned way including personal introductions and just walking up to someone and saying hello. Remember that? These days there is no shortage of resources both online and off for the would-be dater. For anyone who cares to find it there is an endless supply of articles, tips, advice, research data, opinions, blogs, and services that will tell you how to attract the opposite sex, how to get a date, how to find a mate, how to dress and act and talk when you are on a date. If you need information, it is there for you to find, but if you need a date, it starts with hello. With some old, some new, there is no lack of resources for offline dating success...
