Last Minute Getaways

Spontaneous Romance

Last minute getaways, impulsive "lets go!" trips, are what I call inspired romance to go - when you pack a quick bag (maybe) and just head out somewhere. Anywhere. Think of the quick trip as the spark towards romance. With your special someone by your side and a short list of options when you get there (date ideas!?) your last minute getaway will have enough "wow" to fan the flames of romance.

Last Minute GetawayIf you are the type who can drop everything and steal away for a night or two, you'll find some of the best travel deals out there. How romantic would it be to email him or her a short list of what to pack with instructions to meet you at a certain place after work where you'll flip a coin and just go! Adventure and Romance, the perfect combination!

Of course, you'll have done your homework and you'll have all your options in hand. Pick a couple restaurant options, a couple leisure activity options, a couple fun options, and of course, you'll have some romantic options should the opportunity arise. As your getaway progresses you can make up your mind what to do as you go and do whatever feels best. I don't know about you but I don't mind ending a spur of the moment night out back at the hotel, sitting in the jacuzzi or bubble bath, sipping wine together.

Don't Think, Just Go!

Last minute means can find a deal at lunchtime and be on your way as soon as you bust out of work that day! I'm not suggesting you go without booking your stay first, though I have done that and it isn't always pleasant what you end up with when all the rooms in town are taken. Sometimes you can just head out and take your chances. If you're going on a romantic getaway I suggest booking first. There is nothing romantic about a spur of the moment trip only to discover all the rooms in town are booked except that one motel room that comes with it's own crawly things and a lumpy mattress and suspicious activity in the parking lot all night.

Maybe you're not the "get up and go" type?

Some last minute travel sellers will give you as much as three weeks and as little as three hours notice of deals. If you're not crazy about short notice, what you need is a preplanned last minute getaway. What I mean is, you sit down together and decide where you'd like to go (pick a few destinations), when you'd like to go (pick your dates), what you'd like to do, and how much you're willing to pay. Then you sign up for email alerts which will only alert you to your specific list of desires.

The process of preplanning your getaway is a fun and romantic time in itself and can be worked out with pencil and paper over dinner or drinks. Everyone likes to have something to look forward to, even if you don't know exactly what that is besides fun and romantic. That's enough, isn't it?!
