Everyone I know who has done this has nothing but good things to say about it. "You have to try it!" is the typical reaction. I have always planned on going up in a balloon, and this might be the year. I have discovered that what you pay will vary greatly depending on where you are and what is included in the flight. One thing that doesn't vary are the views you'll enjoy. I've spent a lot of time viewing the pictures people take and I can hardly wait to get up there and make my own memories. As far as date ideas go, this one can be a little expensive so make sure you share it with someone special, or at least with someone who will appreciate it. Up, Up, and Away!  Flights generally last about an hour, and many of the flight operators include some nice extras like breakfast after the flight. Most of the places I looked at follow a tradition of a champagne toast when you land. Sounds good to me! A one hour flight includes champagne toast and breakfast. ♥ Melbourne, Australia has the Yarra Valley for $260 per person, or take a private flight for $2,500. Wow. There's even a dinner, bed, balloon, and breakfast package deal for $375 per person. I've always wanted to get to Australia, and now I know what I'll enjoy doing when I get there. ♥ In Canada one company has 12 flight locations across the country. The Vancouver, British Columbia flight is around $225 per person for a one hour flight, sunrise or sunset, with a champagne toast when you land. ♥ You can find over 100 launch sites throughout England, Scotland, and Wales. Don't forget Italy, Japan, New Zealand, and many other locations around the globe. A hot air balloon ride is a very nice romantic, creative, and fun date idea as long as you aren't afraid of heights or getting up early in the morning for the sunrise flight.
