For Any and All Occasions

Gifts for her are a chore for some and easy for others. If you pay attention when you don't need a gift you will get plenty of ideas for when you do need a gift. Before you buy there are some things that you should remember when you're trying to come up with the perfect gift.

There are some occasions when a gift is pretty much required. If you are in a relationship, and unless you have some other understanding, you should never forget gifts for her on the following occasions...

♥ Anniversary
♥ Valentines day
♥ Christmas/Holiday
♥ Special occasions
♥ Just because

If You Aren't In A "Relationship"

Maybe you just want her to know you like her, you appreciate something she has done, you don't want her to forget you, or even (if you must) you want to impress her - any one of the above occasions is a good excuse for thoughtful gifts for her.

Rules of Gift Giving

♥ With only a few exceptions it is not important how much you spend. Don't do something thoughtless like giving a blank check, and don't do something foolish like spending more than you can afford.

If you put thought into gifts for her it will show. If you are thoughtless or last minute it will show.

♥ If you give a gift it should always and only be for good reasons and never to make up for something bad. If you screw up and then give a gift or flowers to try and make up for it you will end up associating gift giving with negative things. The next time you give a gift she wonders what you did wrong.

Give gifts for good reasons and they will always be received with a happy heart.

♥ Don't be the man who waits until the last minute to buy a gift. Keep a list of gifts you think she might like. Put it in your wallet or on your cell phone. When you see something you know she would like put it on the list or don't wait - buy it then and there.

You never have to think of what to buy when you keep a list.

♥ Flowers are nice but they don't take the place of a gift. When it's gift giving time it is a nice touch to add flowers but don't substitute them. Roses are always nice but you should know her favorite flowers too. Her favorites will have much more meaning, especially if they became her favorite in connection to something to do with you.

Last Minute?!

Ok, so you're out of time and you need something now. The first thing that will lead you in the right direction is knowing what she likes?! If you don't know ask her friends or family. Look around her apartment or house. Think about what you see and what you hear. The idea isn't to impress her but to give her something meaningful. Think about it. She will be impressed by how thoughtful you are no matter what you give. Also consider:

Her personality
Her lifestyle
How long you've known her
Why you are giving the gift
What you want the gift to say about you
How much you have to spend

If you give thought to those things and still can't come up with something you can probably find a genuine sales associate (not just an order taker) who can brainstorm a good gift idea if you can give them an idea about who she is and what she is about.
