Casino night doesn't have to mean Las Vegas or Atlantic City to enjoy the thrill of a winning hand. There are casinos in something like 35 of the United States and over 40 countries worldwide. If that isn't enough, try this date night idea at home and roll the dice on romance!
Michigan (where I live) has 21 casinos at the time of this writing - lucky number!? - and more coming each year it seems. California has over 60, and London, England, has around 26. No matter where you go or where you live you're bound to be not too far from enjoying your own casino night.
Guess what... I've never been to Vegas! What's my problem, right? Hey, even though I've never been to Vegas my wife and I enjoy casino night at the casinos here in Michigan. When we go camping it's less than an hour drive to one of our favorite casinos and we usually set aside an afternoon for a visit.
Let The Good Times Roll...
Whenever we go we have fun by following two simple rules:
We bring a set, limited amount of money to play with - no more than we can afford to lose. If you can't afford to take that amount and flush it down the toilet you can't afford to go to a casino.
We never use any more than our set, limited amount of money. Never. Not one penny more, no exceptions. If you can't stick to those two rules stay away from casinos.
Going to a casino can be a fun time if you don't get too caught up in trying to win. The fact is, odds are stacked against you the second you walk into a casino. If you go just to have fun and enjoy your time together it will be a good date.
Me and the wife each like and enjoy our own thing at the casino so we spend some time together and some time alone. She likes the slot machines. She has her particular machines she gravitates toward and she does quiet well on them.
I like to sit at the bar and enjoy a cold beer while playing video poker. I do okay and honesty I don't keep score. I'm just there to have fun. We also bring money to eat (gambling makes you hungry) and for drinks.
Of course, a casino date doesn't mean you can't go to Vegas. There are always getaway deals to Las Vegas. Always.
Even better... casinos are often built around hotels and good restaurants so you can always get a good meal and a room if you're making a weekend of it. Other amenities include show venues, spas, shopping, and free shuttles. Here in Michigan they have a casino bus where you pay for the ride to and from the casino and receive discount tokens which make your cost almost free to go play!
What? No Casino?
If there aren't any casinos nearby you can often find poker nights or even bingo nights you can attend. Yes, bingo. It's not just for older people - anyone can play and anyone can win. If all else fails, get yourself a poker set including cards and chips and call your friends over for a casino night at home. Oh, and who remembers strip poker? I'm just saying.
Don't Forget The Romance!
There is an adrenalin rush involved in gambling. That's why so many people have problems gambling, they like the rush! You will be smarter than that and channel that rush into romance. Really, once your all hyped up from a night at the tables, channel that adrenalin rush into each other. Get a room!
